Emerging Lolita Culture in Japan

I came across of the word Lolita Culture when I read the blog post of Giselle Sanchez. The topic is so interesting that I researched about the said culture. In the world of beauty and fashion, there is no doubt that the emerging Lolita Culture in Japan will be noticed. Lolita look is considered as complex or hard to comprehend. Lolitas are women who are confusing to look at as they were dressed like frilly Victorian dolls.

The Japanese term of Lolita is roriko and such culture is well-known in Japan. Through Live Journal, it became famous in the United States of America because of a group called Elegant Gothic Lolita which is composed of 8, 000 members. Lolitas are also women whose goal is not to attract men but to express themselves through stylish clothing. The fun thing about being a Lolita is wearing girlish and pretty clothes. Lastly, there are many types of Lolita and the most common includes sweet Lolita, Gothic Lolita, Classic Lolita, Country Lolita, Sailor Lolita, and the Guro-Lolita. The Lolita look is also a captivating expression of one’s feelings and emotion. Hence, if a Lolita want to portray being sweet, she may wear trendy and girlish clothes of a sweet girl. On the other hand, if a Lolita wants to express the darker side, she may follow Gothic Lolitas in terms of style and projection.
