Improving Your Website through Article Marketing
Posted by Kirsten Monzon in Business on January 2, 2010
If you have an online business that you feel could use a little boost, then why not try article marketing?
Article Marketing is an advertising campaign designed for you to generate more visitors to your website through the use of articles, thus increasing the probability of actually selling your products or services.
The bottom line for this type of marketing campaign is to create good, high quality articles that relate to your product in some way, so that customers looking for information about the same type of product or service you have will be lead to the article and eventually to your site. For instance, your business is about selling diet medication. You can write about anything concerning weight, the kinds of food to eat, or advantages and disadvantages of any kind of diet. You can then place a link to your site onto the resource box. When your readers click this link, they will be forwarded to your site. Don’t just upload the articles to your site, but also to reliable article directories. Infuse them with keywords so that they will be searchable using Google and Yahoo!
Many people have benefited from this type of marketing campaign. Having it in place increases the traffic to your site, and thus, increases the page ranking as well. This gives you the opportunity to reach out to a wider audience and possibly increasing your revenues.
What are you waiting for? Give it a try and watch your business get the exposure and earn the profits that it deserves.

Tips to Lead Your Business into Success from a Nirvana Frontman
Posted by Kirsten Monzon in Business on December 23, 2009
These series of guides is a summarized version of Brian Clark’s guide. You can find the entire article at this link (http://lateralaction.com/articles/kurt-cobain-startup-success/) if you want to read it.
In order to become a successful entrepreneur, it is important that you have a passion for what you do. The late great rocker certainly had passion for his music. It is also important to know what you want. This way, you have a clear goal set in your mind of what kind of status you want to achieve for your business. The author enumerates some of the key points leading to Nirvana’s success that you can also take and apply as you start your business.
1. Go against the Flow
Clark says that in order for you to create something new, you have to break against the status quo and come up with something innovative. With Nirvana, they sought to go against what most musicians in their area considered as “selling out,” signing up with a major record label. However, they proved victorious in the end and they opened up the doors for other great rockers to come through.
2. Mix the Old with the New
There are things that were already written for the album Nevermind, however, they also incorporated catchy hooks in order to allow the song to appeal to wider audience. As a marketer, you have to balance between the creative element of your product and at the same time capture the psychology of your potential clients.
3. Learn to Market or Let Your Product Market Itself for You
With Nirvana, Nevermind pretty much marketed itself and it went down in history as one of the best rock album of all time. As an entrepreneur, it is essential that you know how to sell and present your product to your audience. If you are lucky and create another “Nevermind” then you really don’t have much to worry about.
Phineas Taylor Barnum: The Greatest Showman on Earth
Posted by Kirsten Monzon in Business on December 22, 2009
Phineas T. Barnum could be the most misunderstood person of his time yet he remains as one of the most amazing and extraordinary entrepreneurs ever. Today, he is considered to be one of the best businessmen ever and has gained a great following for his business ethics and beliefs. Not bad, for somebody who died in 1891.
Barnum became the famous name that he is for creating “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Most people don’t know that Barnum actually started his circus when he was already in his 60s. He was known to be a master when it comes to promotion and marketing. His attractions and business was built solid on exaggeration and hyperbole. Although people criticized him for supposedly “cheating” people out of their money, he never really did.
He is tagged with being the creator of the publicity stunt since he conducts extensive and grand promotions to bring eyeballs to his attractions. He essentially sold dreams by displaying the unusual and the out of the ordinary in his circus. As a businessman, P.T. Barnum was one of the best. Any business man can learn from what he has done. His business partner was General Tom Thumb and it was a partnership made in heaven.
Even though there were obstacles in his business, including family tragedies and a bankruptcy, he never really stopped caring for his business and his circus. This is the primary reason why so many people still look to him for tips and guidelines when it comes to running a business. Business people today may not be putting up their own circus, but they could definitely learn plenty from this great showman.
Six Ideas that Will Get You to the Top of the Sales Success
Posted by Kirsten Monzon in Business on December 21, 2009
In order to turn your business into a success, it is important that you have good salespeople. Most people think that being a salesman is inborn; however, this is a far cry from reality. Selling is a skill that can be learned by almost anybody provided they put their heart and mind into it.
Below are six ideas that every salesman and potential salesman should know. This was adapted from Zig Ziglar’s book, Secrets of Closing the Sale.
First, it is important that you know your prospect. Find out any advanced information about your customer and capitalize on it. Second, even though it may seem unusual, learn how to use voice inflection when you are presenting your product and asking for a buy. Third, people are very visual, so when it comes to the price show them the breakdown and present it to them in segments. Fourth, have a positive attitude and be a little “hard of hearing.” Oftentimes, Ziglar says, when customers say “no” it means “they don’t know.” Fifth, ask questions to the client and lead them to the right answer or decision. Sixth, determine what it is that he needs in order to solve his problem and show him that your product can go ahead and solve this problem.
All these things will help you in winning your customer over and get you to close a sale. It takes practice to do this, so take your time. The moment you master it, means that you will be able to generate and close sales without any problems at all.
Knowing Whether an Internet Business is for You
Posted by Kirsten Monzon in Business on December 17, 2009
I don’t know about you, but it seems that almost every single person out there wants to make a living off of the Internet. Now, putting up a regular business is one thing, but most people never ask themselves whether they have what it takes to run an Internet business and make money online. I usually let people know that if they want to succeed in an online business, they need to have patience and exert effort in making their business work.
Here are three questions that author and businessman, Scott Buresh suggests every individual to ask himself before hopping into the online business caravan.
1. How consistent are you with your Business?
If you want to succeed in putting up an online business, you need to be consistently up to date with the trends and actually follow them.
2. How Persistent are you with your Business?
People have the wrong notion that an Internet business will bring them immediate success. This is not true, it take effort and plenty of patience if you want to earn a steady income from your business online.
3. How willing are you to learn new things for your Business?
Basically, trends change and you have to be able to keep up with it. If you already know everything then your business is simply going to grow stagnant. You have to be willing to learn new techniques and methods in order for you to allow your business to become a success.
The moment that you put all these practices into play, the better the chances of you experiencing success with your online business.
