In order to turn your business into a success, it is important that you have good salespeople. Most people think that being a salesman is inborn; however, this is a far cry from reality. Selling is a skill that can be learned by almost anybody provided they put their heart and mind into it.
Below are six ideas that every salesman and potential salesman should know. This was adapted from Zig Ziglar’s book, Secrets of Closing the Sale.
First, it is important that you know your prospect. Find out any advanced information about your customer and capitalize on it. Second, even though it may seem unusual, learn how to use voice inflection when you are presenting your product and asking for a buy. Third, people are very visual, so when it comes to the price show them the breakdown and present it to them in segments. Fourth, have a positive attitude and be a little “hard of hearing.” Oftentimes, Ziglar says, when customers say “no” it means “they don’t know.” Fifth, ask questions to the client and lead them to the right answer or decision. Sixth, determine what it is that he needs in order to solve his problem and show him that your product can go ahead and solve this problem.
All these things will help you in winning your customer over and get you to close a sale. It takes practice to do this, so take your time. The moment you master it, means that you will be able to generate and close sales without any problems at all.
